Jackie has the idea -- practice.

It's not complicated and the only hard part is weeding. Buy beautiful flowers you enjoy (perennials come back yearly, annuals must be either brought in to overwinter or repurchased yearly) plunk them in the dirt. MiracleGro or Root stimulator when first planted will reduce transplant shock. Water as needed. Fertilize every other week.

You'll do great. Have fun playing in the dirt.
References :
Annuals? Perennials? Xeriscape? There are thousands of websites that can help you out, what you have to do is decide where to start. I have answered these same type of questions professionally for years and the truth is that every situation is unique. If you don't really know where to begin, I suggest actually going to your local nursery (not the big box stores) and ask for help there. You'll get much better information than from a generalized website.
References :
Professional Grower

Is there an online guide or website that can tell you how to grow flowers?
I just recently bought my own home. There are no flowers anywhere on my property. I want to plant some in my front yard across the front of my porch. I have no idea what i'm doing and was wondering if there is a website that can tell me exactly what to do so I can be successful. Any information you guys can give would be helpful. Thanks!
